Name: Thale Cress
Age: 20 (If she doesn't look like it, blame my style. I hear it's 'cute'.)
Race/Species: Human-based Chimaera/mutant. She's in complete denial about no longer being truly human, and insists she's just 'different.'

Personallity/Habits: Cress is generally positive, and loves nothing more than practical jokes, 'harmless' insults, and fighting. Anything she says should be taken as a joke, which leads her to get on the bad side of more serious folk. It takes a good deal to get her angry, and even then she'll crack lame jokes during battle.
Being secluded and kept away from other people for most of her life, she's always trying to meet new people and make friends with them, as it's no fun when there's no one to prank. Of course, most people want Cress to grow up, so it's difficult for her to truly make friends.
Upon meeting a new person, she'll either A) make awkward attempts at being friendly, B) pull some sort of silly prank/make a stupid joke, or C) attack on sight if you look monstrous. After she's started fighting, she won't stop and doesn't know the meaning of the phrase ' pulling a punch.'
~Likes: Cooking (Dross doesn't have the time to make good food), Fighting, Pranks, Dross (her mother/creator), New People, Cute Things (undead, snakes, undead snakes...)
~Dislikes: Reinyr chiding her, losing, being called a chimaera or demon, spicy food
~Cress's 'Game': Usually, she treats battle like a game where you get points for hitting the other person. (She keeps mental track of these points.) The more points you have when you win (via incapacitation) is better. Because of this, she has a habit of drawing out fights. Her record is finishing a fight with 57 points.

Skills/Etc: Cress relies on her equipment developed by Dross during battle. Without it, she only has her own strength to use. Of course, she's quite literally born for battle, so she can still deal some damage when unarmed.
Scarf- Thick, heavy, durable, and fire-retardant, her scarf acts like an extra pair of arms. She tends to use the scarf more expressions more often than she does her real arms.
Goggles - Reinyr- A pair of goggles Cress recieved when Dross realized that she wasn't too bright. Named Reinyr, the goggles serve as the intelligent, logical part of Cress, though she tends to ignore Nyr's generally helpful advice. As equipment, he (speaks with a male voice) can function as clear, shaded, heat- and night-vision goggles. The AI controls the functions, and uses the lenses as 'eyes'. Has a habit of going on rants about why Cress should listen to him, but tends to do a poor job of making her listen to the rants, thus defeating the purpose. Can short-circuit, like any other electric device.
Gloves- Leather gloves treated the same way as the scarf, these gloves have nodes that respond to Cress's will. The left glove (blue node) acts as storage, materializing anything that has been previously stored whenever Cress wants. (currently has several antidotes, salves, equivalent of Mana energy drinks, and lots of bread. Lots. Of. Bread.)
The right glove (green node) allows for minor healing (appears as a green mist). The healing takes too long to use in a fight, unless she can manage a full minute of uninterrupted focus. (Focus for Cress is hard enough in the first place.)
She can also use it to make small spheres of acidic fire (black with a misty-green core). These spheres serve as Cress's only ranged ability, and have a range of roughly 20 feet before they fade back into surrounding energy.
Giant Wrench o' Death- The name is a misnomer, as Cress tries to not kill. It is gigantic, though. Because Dross had a fondness of wrenches, she decided to create one battle-worthy for Cress to use. One side is for use against armored foes, as it is heavy and blunt, while the other is an axe, more-or-less.
Physical Skills- Being made to be able to fight, Cress's skin is tough and almost hide-like, while still being light enough to be able to move dextrously. Her movements are typically quick, but she's a slow runner, and can't jump very high. Her physical strength is enough to be able to use her wrench with ease.

Background: Her mother, Adelaide Dross, had always wanted to lead the life of an adventurer, but her frail body wouldn't allow for it. Instead, she took up an interest in science, and one day got the idea to create a being that would excel at being an adventurer. Using her own DNA, she worked on a way to eliminate her physical shortcomings by replacing them with better traits. She got a bit carried away, and created an artificial child, which she then altered while it was kept in stasis for 10 years.
Dross, then 32, had lost interest in her project, but didn't quite have the heart to abandon the child, which she named Thale Cress. She took it upon herself to raise the child as a daughter. Dross, knowing that people would see Cress as an abberation, did her best to keep her away from society, despite Cress's apparent social personallity (She managed to go into town several times; the experience was less than savory). Cress's response was to read all she could about interaction with other people as she could, making her an inexperienced expert on the subject.
One day while she was exploring the land around Dross's lab, she came across two adventurers skilled in playing a flute and lute. She (awkwardly) befriended them, and developed a love of music. She started to hum, then sing along with the music. (Oddly enough, she sang well.) The two had to continue on their way, though Cress desperately wanted them to stay. To this day, she wishes she could see them again.

The whole handy scarf deal is fuuuun.
Someone could have tied her hands behind her back and they're all TAKE THAT NOW YOU'RE USELESS but then POW her scarves just KICK ASS.
Her goggles giving a sort of insight to to emotions are also very useful. It should be a very interesting character trait, that when used right, can be humorous or actually very moving c:

I read it all (I wanted to do it before but... I get easily distracted).
I like her design and Nyr, is such an interesting thing (especially the fact that's a male voice, as so many times "voices" are the same as the owner (if female, female voice, and viceversa)).
I can imagine Cress going around just using her scarf to grab things and talk.
I didn't understand at all how gloves storage work, but it's interesting (I liked the green one, that makes acid, tehehe).
About her story... she really has adventurer gens, at least the years Adelaide expent "doing" her had good results (even considering her an abomination), so she went out to meet people, even true adventurers.
Now her greatest adventure to see what she most likes back is about to start, lets wait patiencely for it ^^
